We do land clearing in Calabash, North Carolina, and we cover Carolina Shores next door. Calabash sits in the bottom corner of Brunswick County, right against the South Carolina line. We are based in Longs, South Carolina, about 12 miles away. NC 179 runs through Calabash and ties into US 17 just over the line, so the drive is short. Much of the ground around town is still wooded. Scrub pine and briars fill in fast on a lot that sits empty a few years. If you own a wooded parcel off Thomasboro Road, you have seen how thick it gets. We clear that growth with a forestry mulcher and leave the ground ready to use.
Most of the work we do around Calabash is land clearing and lot clearing. Lots in the older sections of Carolina Shores sit next to woods that keep creeping in. A vacant parcel near a golf community can hide a fence or a corner pin. Brush clearing opens that back edge again so you can see your own line. On bigger tracts we run forestry mulching over the whole piece. The mulcher grinds standing brush and small trees into chips that stay on the ground. Nothing gets piled up and nothing gets hauled off. Thicker growth takes more passes, so a heavy lot takes longer than a light one.

Calabash and Carolina Shores draw a lot of retirees, and many lots here were platted years ago. Some of those parcels never got built on, so the pines came back with the underbrush. Lot clearing on a piece like that starts with the tree line and the corners. We mulch the small stuff first so the shape of the lot shows up. Then we work the middle until you can see across it.
The machine we run is a Bobcat T300 with a forestry mulcher head. It rides on tracks, so it spreads its weight instead of digging in. That matters on low ground near the Calabash River, where the dirt stays soft after rain. Tracks also keep the damage down when we cross a yard to reach the back of a lot. On a tight lot in town, the size of the machine is what lets us get in at all.
Calabash is a small fishing town, known for its seafood restaurants and its Calabash style fried seafood. It is also the last town in North Carolina before the South Carolina line. We are based in Longs, about 12 miles away in Horry County, so the drive is short. We take work on both sides of the line. A Calabash lot and a Little River lot are the same trip for us.
NC 179 is the main road through Calabash, and it runs west into US 17 just over the line. US 17 also forms the northwest edge of Carolina Shores. Most lots here sit a short hop off one of those roads. We bring the machine in on a trailer and need a place to park and unload. Tell us about a narrow street when you call, and we will plan the approach.
